The University of Calgary struck a Mental Health Task Force in late 2014 to develop a comprehensive strategy on mental health. A healthy settings approach, which has its roots in the World Health Organization  Health for All strategy, was used as a framework to develop recommendations. The healthy settings approach recognizes how the culture, structure and processes of an institution influence the creation of  supportive environments. This approach encourages the development of comprehensive, multi-faceted and sustainable initiatives to promote mental health and well-being. Our Campus Mental Health Strategy  builds on existing policies and programs but also unifies these efforts to position the University of Calgary to take a leadership role in promoting mental health in our community, Calgary and beyond. This document presents the results of the efforts of the Task Force.
