Recent literature on the phenomenon of geriatric suicide is reviewed. Although the suicide rates of those 60 years of age & older are higher than those of younger age groups, findings in this area are still scarce. Shortcomings in the literature are pointed out, & specific questions which should be addressed by future research are listed.
