This article describes 3 cases of suicide among the author’s clients who all possessed a strong narcissistic preoccupation. These cases are briefly described in the context of the author’s unsuccessful pathogenic ‘red cross nursing niceness’ stance and his shift to a new more successful and tougher approach known as ‘creative or therapeutic aggression’. No suicides have occurred under the new approach, which is described as being more germane to his personality.
