This paper attempts to evaluate & compare student ideas of psychiatric course work material with those of practicing physicians & psychiatrists. A questionnaire was used with respondents asked to rate 21 psychiatric topics. Results show that all groups felt that interviewing skills, the doctor-patient relationship, managing the dying patient, & evaluation ofsuicidal patients were important topics while psychological testing & psychoanalytic theory received the lowest teachingpriority.
