Suicide attempts by preschoolerrs are misdiagnosed. In a comparison of preschool groups with suicidal & nonsuicidal behavior problems the fundamental difference was the expression of aggression. The behavior problem group exressed aggression at others; the suicidal group at themselves as well as others. The suicidal group also showed a higher rate of depressive symptoms, apathy & morbid thoughts. (LJ)
