Abstract
A Psychometric Investigation of the Suicide Status Form II With a Psychiatric Inpatient Sample
Conrad A K~~Jacoby A M~~et al
The authors investigated the psychometric validity & reliability of the Suicide Status Form-II (1997). Participants were 149 psychiatric inpatients at the Mayo Clinic; 108 were suicidal. Each participant completed assessment measures within 24 hours of admission & 48-72 hours later. Factor analyses of the core assessment produced a robust two-factor solution reflecting chronic & acute response styles. The core assessment had good to excellent convergent & criterion validity; pre-post ratings also demonstrated moderate test-retest reliability. Results replicated previous research & show this instrument is psychometrically sound with a high-risk suicidal inpatient sample. (45 refs.)
