Abstract
Two Generations of Slovenian Suicidal Adolescent Inpatients
Radobuljac M~~Groleger U~~et al
This study examined whether the suicidal adolescent inpatient population in Slovenia reflects recent social changes & upheavals. Data on two groups, one admitted to hospital during 1975-1977 & the other admitted from 2002-2004, were collected. Statistically significant group differences were found on educational level, number of siblings, frequently of smoking & medication misuse as well as the number of suicide attempts. The post-independence group changed less than expected given the vast societal changes suggesting a certain constancy in adolescent suicidal behaviour. (40 refs.)
