Women and Suicide: a Comparison of Suicides Versus Accidental Deaths
Chaudron L H~~Conwell Y~~et al
The authors highlight the findings of a study that compared women who died by suicide with women who died from accidental causes. They hypothesized that women who were married, had higher levels of education, were employed & of higher socioeconomic status were at lower risk of suicide. They also tested whether the presence of psychiatric symptoms & suicidal ideation during the last month of life, an alcohol abuse history, & a psychiatric history were associated with having a higher relative risk of suicide in women.
