Charcoal Burning is Also Popular for Suicide Pacts Made on the Internet

The authors note that the Internet suicide pacts cited in a recent study by S Rajagopal both used a new method, charcoal burning, which was also used in 4 additional pacts and 13 deaths by suicide in 2 months. Possible reasons for the popularity of this method in suicide pacts are discussed.
