This article presents an interview with Iris Bolton, a family therapist & executive director of the Link Counseling Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The interview draws on Iris’s personal experiences as a survivor of suicide to discuss issues that counsellors may be confronted with when treating suicide survivors, & how they can be treated most effectively. Reactions to suicide & are discussed in detail, & the need for bereavement counselling to facilitate ‘good’ grieving is emphasized. (1 ref)
