This article discusses the rapidly increasing suicide rate among male adolescents in the UK, for the purpose of expanding & transforming current knowledge of suicide & suicidal behaviour into effective suicide prevention strategies. In order to do so, the authors emphasize the need to be aware of the problems of putting theory into practice & evaluate all interventions that are undertaken to determine their appropriateness & effectiveness.
