This article discusses: 1) the physical survival of the Canadian Inuit, the Inuit understanding of nature, & spiritual beliefs, rituals & customs; 2) the social & psychological survival of the group including social relationships & traditional healing; 3) external influences upon Inuit culture such as intercultural influences, missionaries, & native empowerment; & 4) the individual within the group (a view of modern Inuit youth) & suicide, philosophy & psychology, & an approach to helping.
