This article defines two separate types of suicidal individuals: those having the impulse-ridden character disorders which include obsessive-compulsive, sociopathic, shizo-affective, manic-depressive, & “acting out” adolescents; & those individuals classified as being life long masochists. Basic features found in these two types of patients are discussed. (21 ref.)
