This article explores the clinical & judicial manifestations of magical thinking in research on suicide. Issues of hindsight, absolute judgment, & causal/multi-causal explanations are discussed. Supplemented by legal cases, method of suicide was analyzed in relation to the individual & litigation. Implications for clinical professionals are presented. (22 refs) (SC)
