Abstract
Active and Passive Euthanasia: the Cases of Drs. Claudio Alberto de la Rocha and Nancy Morrison
Gorman D
This discussion results from the 1998 Logie Medical Ethics Essay Contest and focuses on passive and active euthanasia. Using case studies as a basis for argument, Gorman discusses the “case-by-case” study of euthanasia as an absolute neccessary factor in defining ethical responsibilities, and a description of each form of physician-assisted suicide. Other topics include previous doctors charged with murder in euthanasia cases, and opinions on current and proposed euthanasia laws and legislation.
