Zubrick S R~~Silburn S~~Acres J
This paper discusses possible actions that governments, health & other agencies should use to respond to the rise in suicide during the past decade in Australia. The establishment of a Youth Suicide Advisory Committee in 1988 concluded a “…focus on the public health model should be maintained as the framework for the development of policy and strategies.” 7 areas of information influencing this decision are given. High risk as opposed to primary intervention is recommended. (30 refs.)
