Abstract
Book Review-Seduced by Death: Doctors, Patients, and the Dutch Cure by H Hendin
Klagsbrun S C
Klagsbrun reviews Hendin’s book, which opposes physician-assisted suicide. Although Klagsbrun admits that Hendin has encouraged him to reconsider his viewpoint, he still disagrees with Hendin’s view. For example, Hendin fails to take into consideration differences between Dutch & American culture when he draws upon the Dutch’s experience with physician-assisted suicide. Klagsbrun also disagrees with Hendin’s assertion that euthanasia enhances the power of physicians, not patients.
