A Proposed Process Model for Suicide Intervention: ‘Being’ Differentiated From ‘Doing’
Young L
This workshop presented a model which provides one of the first examples of a process orientation in suicide prevention. The model is limited & is based on the work done with over 500 people who had attempted suicide or who had expressed serious suicidal intent. A step-by-step guide was not presented but rather a reduction of what was found useful. The focus was suicide intervention & not the preliminary steps in establishing rapport.
