Skilling key Workers: the Implementation of a Youth Suicide Prevention Project in Belgium (IN: Suicide Prevention: The Global Context. Proceedings of the 19th Congress…, ed. by R J Kosky et al)

Different aspects of the development & implementation of a local youth suicide prevention project in Belgium are described. Experiences & evaluations of other relevant projects are taken into account. The project was not curriculum based & the emphasis was put on skilling key persons & integrating them in a network of school & health & welfare services. The goal was to improve their awareness for early suicide detection, first aid, counselling, & referral.
