This paper provides an overview of the extent to which different domains of risk factors contribute to the risk of serious suicide attempts among young people. A case-control design was used to compare 129 attempters with 153 controls. Results suggest that young people most at risk for serious suicide attempts were characterized by social disadvantage, childhood adversity, personality difficulties, current psychiatric disorder & recent stressful life events.
