This study examined which life events are related to depression in late life. 74 elderly Dutch people were interviewed. Preliminary results showed that significant correlations were mainly found for events occuring in late adolescence & adulthood including interpersonal problems, illnesses of child(ren), financial worries, loss of contact after relocation, & legal problems. Futher research is needed to investigate the role of specific events & mediating factors in late-life depression.
