This journal article discusses the possible adverse effects on mood and behavior, associated with cholesterol (CH) lowering treatment. An association between such treatment and accidental death is reported in a number of studies, including cohort analyses, which have identified high suicide rates in low CH-groups. Studies on the relationship between CH-lowering and mood or psychiatric illness, have produced inconclusive results.
