Geographical Distribution of Parents and Adult Siblings at the Time of Parental Death

Study of children of recently deceased parents show how that 90% live within 1hrs drive of parents, regardless of urban or rural setting. Children, in & outside of home are 2nd to spouse as primary source of help for bedfast elderly. There is an extremely high level of visiting among aged & their children. It is suggested that social policy should look at how best to assist adult children in apparent care, since children are available for the job.
