Abstract
Assessing Suicide Risk
This article notes that a full assessment of suicidal risk is essential in the managment of the individual with HIV/AIDS. It identifies some of the research which has examined the risk of suicide in indiviudals with HIV/AIDS & notes that conflicting data has been reported. It outlines & discusses 5 specific issues to be addressed in a systematic & thorough evaluation of suicide risk in persons with HIV/AIDS: pre-esisting pathology, depression, social support, pain, & crisis situations.
