The features of suicidal temperament were explored & the psychological domains of vulnerability in attempted suicide are described. 32 suicide attempters were compared to 32 matched controls on self-report personality inventories. Suicide attempters had higher scores on items such as neuroticism, psychoticism, suspicion, & lower socialization. The features of suicidal temperament included factors such as hopelessness, anhedonia, anxiety, hostility, antisocial traits & interpersonal problems.
