The case histories of 2 identical female twins concordant for serious suicide attempt were examined. Although 1 sister knew about the other’s attempt, their histories are very similar. The literature on suicide in twins was discussed & suggestions made that further studies of the families of suicides be made, including studies of the transmission of traits affecting suicide risk.
