This chapter examines the need for & development of HIV/AIDS policy & action plans for students & staff. Collaborative development of policies may educate all segments of the population & serve to prevent difficult situations. HIV/AIDS education, the progressive nature of the illness, & need for assistance on death, dying & grief are discussed. Crisis plans cannot afford to be “reactive,” but must contain a proactive education-prevention dimension. Guidelines for media spokepersons are included.
