The first 3 chapters of this report discuss the research questions posed, the research methodology & a literature review. The fourth chapter describes factors that appear to be associated with firearm suicides. Chapter 5 examines provincial variations in suicide rates & Chapter 6 analyzes changes over time in suicide rates in Canada, focussing on changes in firearm suicide rates after the 1977 amendments to the Criminal Code. The last chapter summarizes the study’s findings.
