Suicide prevention for runaway youth must become a valued part of comprehensive service delivery. This chapter describes runaway & homeless youth in the United States, where they come from, what range of problems they suffer from, & where they are most likely to go for help & shelter. Current social service programs are discussed both in terms of their strengths & limitations in meeting the needs of these youth.
