This article questions the accuracy of military suicide statistics. The author compared the 2 systems which record mortality among military personnel: each have different sets of requirements & different missions. The author found that there was a large differential in the number of reported deaths by each office. For suicide statistics, only 22.5% of the cases were determined to be suicides by both offices.
