This article discusses homicide & suicide among the Bunyoro, a Bantu tribe of Uganda. The author studied attempted murder & murder cases from 1935 to 1955. He outlines Bunyoro ideas of the causes of homicide (e.g. anger, spirits), as well as homicide statistics, & 6 homicide case histories . Suicide, he found, is considered morally wrong, but its existence, & even its necessity, are recognized. The causes of suicide, as well as 6 case histories are provided. (VM)
