Abstract
Platelet Serotonin-2 Receptor Binding Sites in Depression and Suicide
Pandey G N~~Pandey S C~~et al
This article presents the results of a study about the role of serotonin-2 (5HT-2) receptors in depression and suicide. The authors found significant increases in the 125-I-LSD binding sites in the platelets of depressed patients compared to those of a normal control group. They also found that depressed patients with a recent history of suicide attempts or ideation had higher 5HT-2 binding sites then either the nonsucidal depressed group or the normal control group.
