A study of suicide done in Munich found that suicide rates decrease as age increases. After age 60 these rates sharply rise. The young were found to experience more neuroses and addictions while the old experienced more depression and negative life changes prior to attempts of suicide. Interpersonal relationships were found to be a large factor for all age groups, especially the young. A long-term intensive post-event management program is needed to address the negative changes of this group.
