A case of a 78 yr old woman suspected of committing suicide is reported; an analysis of the evidence suggesting that she threw herself into the river after stabbing & cutting her neck, left forearm, abdomen & back. Hesitation marks on the back are relatively rare in cases of suicide. The authors discuss the manner of death & assume the mode in which her injuries were inflicted. 8 refs.
