Discusses the role of death preoccupations in the diagnosis of childhood suicidal behavior. 101 randomly selected children & a parent were interviewed. The suicidal children had significantly more intense preoccupations with death than the nonsuicidal children. Brief vignettes are used to illustrate the findings.
