The studies reviewed indicate frequency of suicidal behavior among: school children (12%), junior high (35%), high school (65%) & college students (50-65%) – lower than those of similar-age psychiatric populations. Most attempts were low-lethality for which medical attention was not sought. The most commonly identified correlates of suicidal behaviors are included. Several constraints are discussed: small samples, no standard protocols or definitions of categories of suicidal behaviors, etc.(KM)
