Describes postvention efforts following each of 2 parasuicides among undergraduate residents of a dormitory which also housed faculty. In one case, a 2-hour counselling session addressed staff & student guilt over an overdose attempt which had been preceded by revealed suicidal thoughts. In the other case, counseling was provided for 2 close friends of a withdrawn student who attempted to overdose. The outcomes indicated that postvention avoided suicide deaths. (RM)
