This summarized paper discusses the therapist’s reaction following a client’s suicide, the mourning process & how the professional role affects his reaction e.g. wonders if he has done his job well enough, fears what colleagues will say about him, refuses to see suicidal clients. Therapists are prone to emotional problems & social stigma that interfere with their ability to help survivors. Post crisis intervention for therapists is described. (KM)
