This is information for gatekeepers (non-mental health workers) who are in daily contact with a variety of people to recognize, stabilize, & refer suicidal persons. Descriptions of what a crisis is in general, basic suicidology, how to communicate with a person in a crisis (both general & suicidal), the intervention plan, & possible characteristics of a person considering suicide are provided.
