A workshop model designed to offer caregivers a greater awareness of their power with, and responsibility to, difficult clients is descibed. The six steps of the model include identifying different client’s styles, emotional reactions of the caregiver, nontherapeutic attitudes and behavior of caregivers, individual and organizational parameters, client needs re. caregiver and organizational limits, and effective action plan strategies. Each step is discussed in terms of the model.
