Each year in Alberta alone we lose more than 500 people to suicide. This impacts families and communities as a whole. Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is an event which brings survivors of suicide loss together to find connection, understanding, and hope through their shared experience. This free event is intended to help suicide loss survivors in our community find connection in a safe, supportive space. Talking about suicide bereavement allows those impacted to normalize feelings, find hope, and learn ways to cope and heal, find resources and connect with others also dealing with this unique loss. There will be on-site support available for this day in the form of community agencies that will provide a link to ongoing connection for grief support.
