This program is for youth and their support person(s). Definitions Youth are people 12-24 who are interested in understanding the thoughts and feelings that lead to thinking about suicide and how to make safe choices. Support person(s) (18 and older) have a supportive relationship with a young person (e.g. parent, family member, guardian). Two separate sessions are held at the same time – one for youth and another for their support person(s). Youth and support person(s) do not both need to participate in the program, but it is recommended.

The following questions will help us determine which group would be the best fit for you and/or the youth you support. Your responses will be kept confidential and only accessible by trained program staff.
The next question asks about the youth’s experience with suicidal thoughts. Please note that groups will be split between those who have thoughts of suicide only and those who have acted on their thoughts of suicide. This helps to ensure that participants in each group have the greatest affinity with fellow participants. Please respond to this question to the best of your knowledge. We will follow up with further questions at the intake interview and direct participants to the group that is the best fit.
