The Impact of Health and Social Care Systems on Suicide Attempters

The results of a follow-up study of a cohort of 228 suicide attempters were reported in this presentation. Specific attention was paid to the impact of health & community care systems on this population. Results took into account certain measures of personality & the bearing of these on the outcomes.

The Role of NPOs in Suicide Prevention Measures Overseas – Based on the Examples of Finland

This presentation discussed the role of community agencies in suicide prevention, focusing on the SOS Center in Helsinki. This center is a program of the Finnish Association for Mental Health. It is concluded that the success of the agency indicates government & nonprofits can work together.
