Strength in Unity Summit

This past Saturday, March 18, 2017, Robert Olson from Centre for Suicide Prevention attended the Strength in Unity Summit at the University of Calgary, hosted by the Faculty of Social Work. The Summit was a discussion of the findings of Strength In Unity: Men Speaking Out Against Stigma, a research intervention that mobilized men in Asian communities to reduce the stigma of mental health concerns. “The research project brought a better understanding of men’s mental health concerns from a wide cross-section of Alberta’s Asian communities. The research intervention also pointed out gaps in existing services, and suggested ways in which services could be improved.”
