Death by suicide is a complicated grief process for the bereaved. Cultural and religious perspectives on suicide may cause additional distress to those who have experienced such a loss. For Muslims, scholars and imams may offer guidance in supporting the family, but there is little literature to support mental health professionals. The aim of this article is to offer health professionals some guidelines, building on existing knowledge in the relevant religious/cultural context.
