When a suicide occurs, the effect on those touched by it – families, friends, communities – is immediate and traumatic. The impact on a school community is no different; it often happens unexpectedly and leaves a school with many
questions about what to do next. Students often struggle to cope, and it can be difficult for the school community to know how it should respond. In these circumstances, schools need clear, practical and reliable information, which they can rely on for guidance and direction.
