The effects of unresolved trauma can be carried across generations through different pathways. The psychological, social and physiological levels (including changes at the epigenetic level) are always interacting. This workshop will concentrate on the psychological level, with a focus on how individual development, conjugal relationships and family dynamics can be burdened by the consequences of unresolved traumatic losses in prior generations. Through examples of healing journey with family touched by an attempt or grieving after a suicide, we hope to bring a better understanding of some of the relational processes involved in generational transmission of trauma that can lead to suicide.
