Abstract
Predicting suicide attempts in depressed adolescents: Clarifying the role of disinhibition and childhood sexual abuse.
Stewart, J.~~Kim, J.~~et al.
We examined the effects of sexual abuse and disinhibition on suicidality. Participants were depressed adolescents in an acute residential treatment facility. Sexual abuse was associated with suicide attempts in the past year and lifetime. Disinhibition only predicted attempts in adolescents with a history of sexual abuse. All analyses controlled for depression severity, suicidal ideation and planning.
