Abstract
Poststroke suicide attempts and completed suicides: A socioeconomic and nationwide perspective.
Eriksson, M., et al.
We examined attempted and completed suicides after stroke to determine whether they were associated with socioeconomic status, other patient characteristics, or time after stroke. Both clinical and socioeconomic factors increase the risk of poststroke suicide attempts. This suggests a need for psychosocial support and suicide preventive interventions in high-risk groups of stroke patients.
