This book contains the words of MŽtis ancestors and Elders from the past and present. The narrative form is used to share conversations the Elders had with each other and the rest of us about traditional knowledge. The following themes emerged from EldersÕ discussions about traditional knowledge and are explored in In the Words of Our Ancestors: 1. revisiting MŽtis health and healing; 2. living Michif; 3. the importance of MŽtis women and families to community health; and 4. land and water as central to MŽtis health and wellness.
